COMMONS SEATS POLICY

17th October 2012

It was agreed that there will be no more plastic benches due to their incongruence with the natural environment (and their high costs) and that requests for seats be refused, with an alternative of a British tree being planted instead as a 'living' memorial. Conservators will help decide what type of tree and where would be best to put them, and could also arrange for planting. Anyone still wanting a seat will be put on a 'waiting list' for an old bench needing repair which they could then pay for and have a plaque attached at their cost.
